Configuring the XTM Connect - Trados Studio plugin in Trados Studio
Once you have installed and activated your copy of the XTM Connect – Trados Studio plugin, you can adjust the default configuration settings. This will only be necessary if you are requested to do so by (for example) your customer's Project Manager or system administrator, or by XTM Support. Normally, the default configuration settings will be suitable for your needs.
However, you do need to add the XTM Cloud XLIFF file type to the files in the Studio File Types list. You only need to do this once, after installing the XTM Connect – Trados Studio plugin (unless you completely deinstall the plugin). See "XLIFF files" below.
The settings you make will only affect translation projects from XTM Cloud, which you import into Trados Studio, for translation, using XTM Connect – Trados Studio(for details, see Working with XTM Connect – Trados Studio). These settings will be permanent, so you will only have to make them once. You can change them again later, if you need to or are requested to do so (by the people mentioned above).
In general, the language codes used in XTM Cloud are matched with (mapped to) the ones used in Trados Studio at program level. However, in the case of languages that have been newly added to Trados Studio or if there are any discrepancies in the existing language mapping, you can manage language code mapping manually when you configure your copy of XTM Connect – Trados Studio. See "Language mapping" below.
