4-1a. Returning a translated file to XTM Cloud without "finishing" it

When you have translated the source text in Trados Studio, you deliver it by returning it to XTM Cloud. There, a Project Manager can send the translation for review, send it to the customer or perform other actions, as required. (It is, however, possible, that a translation might be returned to you for checking after a review, but if that is necessary, your Project Manager will contact you about it.)

Note

Your responsibility for the translation does not end until you have both returned it to XTM Cloud and finished it. For this reason, if you return a translated file to XTM Cloud without finishing it, you must follow the procedure described in 4-1b. Finishing a task in XTM Cloud from Trados Studio after you perform the procedure below.

Recommended alternative: instead of this two-step process, you can select Upload translation to XTM Cloud and finish task to perform both actions together. For details, see OR 4-2 Returning a translated file to XTM Cloud and "finishing" the task.

To return a translated file to XTM Cloud without "finishing" it:

  1. Select the translation project whose translated source file you want to return to XTM Cloud. Its Studio status is Project created. To do so, select the checkbox next to the project's XTM project name. The Actions menu, above the XTM project name column, which was grayed out, is activated.

  2. From the Actions menu, select the Upload translation to XTM Cloud option.

    The translated file is returned to XTM Cloud and a popup confirms delivery.
