Importing existing language mappings into XTM Connect – Trados Studio
If another Trados Studio user has exported their existing language mappings and then emailed the mapping file to you, or shared it with you in another way, you can import the file and ensure you are working with the same language mappings.
Important
The imported language mapping list will replace, not expand, your current language mappings.
To import existing language mappings:
In Trados Studio, in the top left-hand corner, select File. Then, in the left-hand side panel, select Options.
Result: the Options popup is displayed.
In the panel on the left-hand side of the Options popup, select File Types > XTM XLIFF > Language mapping.
Result: the Language mapping screen is displayed on the right-hand side of the Options popup. In it, you see a list of languages that have already been mapped.
Select the Import button, in the top right-hand corner of the Language mapping screen.
Result: the Open popup is displayed.
In the Open popup:
select the folder in which you have saved the .json file, containing language mapping details, that you want to import.
In the bottom right-hand corner, select:
Cancel – to abort language mapping import.
Open – to import language mappings.
Result: the language mappings from the .json file are imported to the Language mapping section in your Trados Studio. They replaced the existing language mappings.
You can now close the Options popup, unless you want to perform another action:
