Adding the XTM Cloud XLIFF file type to the files in the Studio File Types list
When you install XTM Connect – Trados Studio, a new file type is added to the File Types section in the Options screen. This new file type is called XTM Cloud XLIFF.
This file type is necessary because, otherwise, XLIFF files sent to Trados Studio, from XTM Cloud, would be handled as "ordinary" XLIFF files and not processed using the logic applied to XTM Cloud XLIFF files. XTM Cloud translation management and processing functionality would not be available.
Note
To enable XTM Cloud XLIFF files to be used in your instance of Trados Studio, you need to add that file type to the files in the Studio File Types list. You only need to do this once, after installing the XTM Connect – Trados Studio plugin.
Select File > Options. On the left, you see the File Types list of file types that can be used in your instance of Trados Studio.
Open the File Types list. Details of currently available file types are displayed on the right. You see a system message under the File Types header that informs you that there are some additional installed file types. Select the system message, which is a link text. You see the Add Additional Installed File Types popup.
In the popup, select the XTM XLIFF checkbox.
Select the OK button. The popup closes.
Result: you have added the XTM Cloud XLIFF file type to the files in the Studio File Types list.
If required, now adjust these configuration settings for XTM Cloud XLIFF files:
