Logging in to XTM Cloud from XTM Connect – Trados Studio

To fetch and deliver XTM Cloud translation jobs, you need to log in to XTM Cloud, in Trados Studio. You will then have access to the XTM Cloud jobs that have been assigned to you. For details of how to process them, see Working with XTM Connect – Trados Studio.

There are two ways to log in to XTM Cloud:

To log in to XTM Cloud with your XTM Cloud user name and password, in Trados Studio:

  1. In the taskbar at the top of the Trados Studio View screen, on the left, select the XTM Tasks icon.

    Alternatively, in the menu at the bottom of any Trados Studio screen except the File screen, on the left, select the XTM Tasks icon.

    In either case, you see the XTM Cloud Login screen.

  2. Select the Login using XTM button at the bottom of the popup, on the right.

  3. In the Login screen, enter the details for your connection to XTM Cloud. You will be supplied with them by your customer's Project Manager or system administrator.

  4. Enter these details in the popup:

    Field name

    Description

    XTM Cloud URL

    Enter the URL of the XTM Cloud instance to which you want to connect, to fetch and process translation work. This is your customer's XTM Cloud instance.

    XTM Cloud Company Name

    Enter the name of the company for which you want to connect to XTM Cloud.

    XTM Cloud User Name

    Enter your XTM Cloud user name.

    XTM Cloud Password

    Enter your XTM Cloud password.

    If you need to reset your XTM Connect password, contact your customer's Project Manager or system administrator.

  5. Select the Log in to XTM Cloud button at the bottom of the popup.

    Note

    Once you have entered your credentials for the first time, these credentials, except your password, are stored and used as default values next time you log in. The password is not stored at all, to ensure that it remains secure.

To log in to XTM Cloud with Single Sign-On (SSO), in Trados Studio:

  1. In the taskbar at the top of the Trados Studio View screen, on the left, select the XTM Tasks icon.

    Alternatively, in the menu at the bottom of any Trados Studio screen except the File screen, on the left, select the XTM Tasks icon.

    In either case, you see the XTM Cloud Login screen.

  2. In the Login screen, enter the details for your connection to XTM Cloud. You will be supplied with them by your customer's Project Manager or system administrator.

  3. Enter these details in the popup:

    Field name

    Description

    XTM Cloud URL

    Enter the URL of the XTM Cloud instance to which you want to connect, to fetch and process translation work. This is your customer's XTM Cloud instance.

    XTM Cloud Company Name

    Enter the name of the company for which you want to connect to XTM Cloud.

    XTM Cloud User Name

    For SSO, do not enter your XTM Cloud user name! It is not required.

    XTM Cloud Password

    For SSO, do not enter your XTM Cloud password! It is not required.

  4. Select the Login using SSO button button at the bottom of the popup. The Enter your username and password SSO login dialog is displayed.

  5. In the SSO login dialog, enter your login credentials and confirm your entries. XTM Connect – Trados Studio fetches the access token for your login, from XTM Cloud and you log in to XTM Cloud.

    Note

    You will be given your SSO login credentials by your customer's Project manager or system administrator.

Result: no matter which login method you have used, when you log in, you see the main XTM Tasks screen. It contains your translation tasks.
