Requesting scope (translation project cost)

Request scope for each individual job in a translation project to get the scope details for that entire project. These scope details are based on the relevant Customer and rate card settings in XTM Cloud. You cannot request scope for an entire translation project: you must request scope individually for each translation job in it.

Note

Requesting scope is optional. You can send a translation job to XTM Cloud without requesting scope.

You can see the following:

To request a scope summary for a translation job, in a project:
  1. In the global Navigation screen, select the Projects icon. You see the Projects screen.

  2. In the Projects screen, open the project in which you want to request scope. You see a summary screen showing the project's translation jobs and other details.

  3. At the top of a Translation Job pane, select the down arrow to display the dropdown.

  4. Select the Request Scope option.

The translation project is generated in XTM Cloud. The Status changes to Scope Requested. The job is analyzed and, when the analysis is complete, the job status changes to Scope Completed.

  5. When analysis is complete, select Show Scope. The Scope popup is displayed. It contains a summary of the scope details for the particular translation job. You cannot display a summary screen showing the total scope for the project and each translation job in it.

To display a detailed scope overview, in the XTM Cloud Metrics tab page:
  1. Select the Details button in the Scope popup. A Redirecting link window, containing the URL for a link to the XTM Cloud Metrics tab page, is displayed.

    Note

This is a one-time link: if you close the XTM Cloud Metrics tab page, you cannot reopen it. You can only call it up again, in the future, by selecting the Request Scope option again, in the XTM Cloud connector.

  2. Select Allow to access the XTM Cloud Metrics tab page.

  3. The XTM Cloud Metrics tab page is displayed in another tab. It contains the scope and other metrics for the XTM Cloud project.

To export the selected metrics data, in the XTM Cloud Metrics tab page:
  1. Select the down arrow in the Save all as dropdown above the Metrics table. A list of available export formats is displayed.

  2. Select the required export format:

    • XLSX

    • Flat XLSX or

    • CRV

Result: XTM Cloud exports the selected event's details to a file (with the export format you have selected) and places it in your computer's local Downloads folder.

  3. You can now access the export file there, and process it as required.
