XTM Connect – Adobe Experience Manager

Sending a single page for translation the "quick way", from the Sites screen

Use this option to send a single page for translation into a single source language, directly from the Sites screen.

Restrictions on this feature

  • You can only use this feature in XTM Connect – Adobe Experience Manager, the standalone version, not in XTM Connect – AEM as a Cloud Service.

  • You can only use this feature to create a new translation project.

  • You cannot use this feature to add translation content to an existing translation project.

  • You can only use this feature to translate into a single target language at a time: it cannot be used for multi-language projects.

To send a single page for translation the quick way, from the Sites screen:
  1. In the global Navigation screen, select the Sites icon. You see the Sites screen.

  2. Select the check box beside the icon for the page whose content you want to send for translation.

  3. Select the Edit button in the top menu. The selected site is displayed.

  4. Select the slider sliders-h-solid__1_.svg from the top menu.

  5. In the options list, select Send to translation in XTM.

  6. In the Send to translation in XTM popup, create a new translation project for this content. To do so, fill in these fields:

    • Project name.

This is the project name that a Project manager will see in the Projects tab in XTM Cloud.

      Note

If you enter forbidden characters such as ? or ! in the project name, these will be stripped out when the project is imported into XTM Cloud.

The project then imports correctly. This prevents projects from being rejected, and not imported, because of forbidden characters in the project name.

      Note

If you create a translation project in Adobe Experience Manager, an identifier is added to the project name in XTM Cloud to distinguish it from projects created in, for example, another CMS. This identifier is [AEM "source and target language codes"]. You see the project name in the XTM Cloud Projects tab.

      Example identifier: [AEM en_us - sv_se].

    • Source language

    • Target language. You can only select one target language at a time: this function cannot be used for multilingual projects.

    • Due date (optional)

  7. To apply a specific configuration to your new translation project, select the Inherited from checkbox. This enables you to, for example, select a different Customer for particular content, or select specific Linguists for different workflow steps.

  8. If you selected the the Inherited from checkbox, select the configuration that you want to apply to your new translation project from the dropdown. The default configuration is global.

  9. If the page you want to send for translation has subpages, and you want them to be translated too, select the Include subpages checkbox.

  10. To start the translation workflow in XTM Cloud automatically, select the Auto-start project checkbox. If you do not select it, the assigned Project Manager must start the project in XTM Cloud.

  11. Select one of these options:

    • To send the project for translation straight away, select Send.

Result: Translation of the content for the selected site is requested in XTM Cloud.

    • To close the project without saving your changes, select Cancel.
