XTM Connect – Adobe Experience Manager

Advanced Translation Cloud Service settings

Make these Advanced Translation Cloud Service settings in Adobe Experience Manager, after the General Translation Cloud Service settings, but before finalizing the Translation Cloud Service configuration.

Translation Cloud Services Advanced settings:
  1. In the Edit Configuration screen, containing the XTM Translation Connector Settings, make these settings in the Advanced tab:

    Field name

    Description

    XTM project name template

This name template specifies the format used to generate translation projects created in the XTM Cloud connector. The tooltip on this field contains available placeholders, which you can enter to set the project name format.

    XTM project creation strategy

Specify how translation projects are to be created, for XTM Cloud:

    • Create new XTM project for each AEM Translation Job or

    • Update existing XTM project if possible (relevant for continuous project creation). If you select this setting, existing XTM Cloud projects are handled as follows:

      • Active XTM Cloud project: project files (translation jobs) whose source content has changed are automatically resent for translation.

      • Archived XTM Cloud project, less than 1 year old: the project is reactivated. Project files (translation jobs) whose source content has changed are automatically resent for translation.

If the archived project cannot be opened, a new project is created automatically and the relevant files are added to it and sent for translation.

    Note

You can only start translation projects created in XTM Connect – AEM as a Cloud Service, not in XTM Connect – Adobe Experience Manager, the standalone connector, in XTM Cloud.

When creating translation jobs in XTM

Specify what information is used to form an XTM Cloud job name:

    • Use the title for XTM job name.

    • Use the path for XTM job name.

    When cancelling an XTM project

Specify what happens to an XTM Cloud project, if it is cancelled in the XTM Cloud connector:

    • Archive the project

    • Delete the project, keep its translation memory

    • Delete the project and its translation memory

Check project analysis status in XTM Cloud for (attempts)

When a project is sent to XTM Cloud for translation, it must first be analyzed to determine its scope.

Set the number of times that the XTM Cloud connector is to check if XTM Cloud has finished analyzing uploaded XML source files.

    Default setting: 2000 retries.

Only change this setting if absolutely necessary.

Check project analysis status in XTM Cloud every (milliseconds)

Set the time interval at which the XTM Cloud connector checks to find out if XTM Cloud has finished analyzing uploaded XML source files that are sent from Adobe Experience Manager to XTM Cloud.

    Default setting: 2000 milliseconds.

Only change this time interval if absolutely necessary.

    AEM Launch handling strategy

In Adobe Experience Manager Sites, Launches can be created to enable changes to be made to existing content, ready for future publication, while maintaining current pages and using them without those changes.

Specify how Launch pages are to be sent for translation in XTM Cloud:

    • Send Launch pages separately

    • Aggregate Launch pages

For details of how to work with Launches, refer to the "Best Practices" guide, Translating content in Adobe Experience Manager: Launches chapter.

For more information about Launches in Adobe Experience Manager, see Adobe Experience Manager Launches (Adobe Inc. online help).

    Language mapping path

Specify the path on which the language-mapping file is stored, in Adobe Experience Manager.

Enable Visual mode in XTM Workbench using

Specify the method used to enable Visual mode in XTM Workbench, if required:

    • XTM Preview Generator: the Preview Generator that is integrated in XTM Workbench. Requires no additional configuration.

    • XTM Preview Generator: node path added: If you select this option, additional data-previewnodepath attributes are added to source files to improve the preview in XTM Workbench. May require content structure adjustment and additional configuration in XTM Cloud.

    • AEM Preview Generator: based on AEM Content Sync. Requires export template configuration in AEM.

    • No preview.

    Note

For more details about data-previewnodepath attributes and the text decoration algorithm, see Visual mode content: disabling generation of data-previewnodepath attributes.

  2. Now make the Callback settings (optional), if required. If not, select the General tab and finalize the Translation Cloud Service configuration.
