Trouble-shooting: checking a project's Translation Project Properties
If a project's Translation Job Status is Committed for translation, but an Error panel below contains the warning Failed to start translation, you need to create the project again. Check the failed project's Translation Project Properties. If they are incorrect, create a new project, for the same content, with the correct properties.
In the AEM global Navigation screen, select the Projects icon. You see the Projects screen.
In the Projects screen, open the project whose properties you want to check. You see a summary screen showing the project's translation jobs and other details.
In the Summary pane, on the left, select the three dots icon. The Translation Project Properties window is displayed.
Select the Advanced tab.
In the Advanced tab screen, check these settings:

Cloud Configuration (translation service provider)
The setting here is set as the default configuration. If the selected Cloud Configuration does not exist, this will prevent translation from starting. You cannot change this setting here: it must be changed in the project's Cloud Services settings.
Translation Method
Ensure Human Translation has been selected from the dropdown.
Translation Provider
Ensure XTM Connector has been selected from the dropdown.
Automatically Promote Translation Launches
Ensure that this checkbox has been selected.
Delete Launch After Promotion
Ensure that this checkbox has been selected.
Automatically Approve Translations
Ensure that this checkbox has been selected.
When you create the new project, to replace the original (failed) project), ensure that the settings you use are correct.
When you have finished looking at the Translation Project Properties, select Save & Close. The Translation Project Properties window closes.
