XTM Connect – Adobe Experience Manager

Creating translation projects

You use the standard functionality provided in Adobe Experience Manager to create translation projects. The XTM Cloud connector manages these projects, sends them to XTM Cloud for translation by Linguists and returns them to the appropriate locations in the Adobe Experience Manager content tree when they are completed.

In Adobe Experience Manager, you can use different methods to create translation projects. Its flexibility enables you to create the kind of project you need. Find the project type that you need, in this table. Follow the link in the Project description column to view the help for creating that type of project. For more information, select the link for the relevant Adobe Inc. online help.

Translation service providers

The default translation service provider to which a translation project will be sent for translation is defined globally, in Adobe Experience Manager. A default translation service provider must be configured, in your Adobe Experience Manager instance. There, one of the system administrators, or a Translation requester, can change the default translation service provider or configure multiple translation service providers.

Translate content

Select an Adobe Experience Manager map and add it to a translation project. (In this context, a map is a container, used to add and organize information in a hierarchical structure. DITA content is structured in maps.). This content can be multilingual.

Best practices for content translation

The DITA Project template, created by XTM International, enables DITA content to be sent to XTM Cloud for translation, via the XTM Cloud connector Projects screen.

There, use it to create a single-source-language project containing many content files, joined together into a single file, for translation.
