XTM Connect – Adobe Experience Manager

Enabling Visual mode in Adobe Experience Manager

To enable XTM Workbench to display content previews in Visual mode, Visual mode must be enabled in the Adobe Experience Manager Configuration Manager. This configuration is part of a package, so the procedure below does not normally need to be performed manually. To enable Visual mode manually, in the Adobe Experience Manager Configuration Manager, follow the steps below.

To enable Service User Mapping for preview generation:
  1. On your localhost, in your instance of Adobe Experience Manager, select configMgr/system/console/configMgr. The Configuration Manager Configuration tab screen is displayed.

  2. Find the Apache Sling Service User Mapper Service and select it, to edit the configuration values in it.

  3. In the Service Mappings field, enter this new value: com.xtm.translation.connector.xtm-for- aem.core:translation-preview=translation-preview-service.

  4. Select Save.

Result: Visual mode is now enabled in your instance of Adobe Experience Manager. When a source content page is sent to XTM Cloud, for translation, relevant reference files (such as graphics) will be sent with it, in a separate preview package (ZIP file). If requested by a Project Manager or Linguist, they will be used to display a preview in XTM Workbench.

    Note

You can excluded unwanted reference files from preview packages, or specify that additional content files are to be sent for translation, if required. For details see Configuring preview filters for Visual mode.

For details of other Visual mode-related topics, see Configuring Visual mode.
