XTM Connect – Sitecore user roles in Sitecore

Translation requesters use XTM Connect – Sitecore to create translation projects containing Sitecore content. To enable them to log in to Sitecore and create projects, they need to have the appropriate user type assigned to them, in Sitecore.

When XTM Connect – Sitecore is installed, these user roles are added:

  • XtmUser: this role is assigned to Translation requesters. They then have access to the XTM Connect – Sitecore functionality in Sitecore and can create and manage translation projects. This role must be assigned to all Translation Requesters, otherwise, only Administrators will be permitted to create or manage translation projects.

  • XtmAdmin: this role has configuration privileges and can access all the settings and folders used for or by XTM Connect – Sitecore. Users with this role can configure XTM Connect – Sitecore. They can also create or manage translation projects.

  • XtmProjectViewRestriction: this is a special role which you can assign to users to limit their access to projects. Users with this role will only see the projects that they have created and sent for translation.

Note

Make sure you assign an XTM Connect – Sitecore role to a user, as well as a Sitecore user role, otherwise that user will not be able to log in to XTM Connect – Sitecore.
