XTM Connect – Sitecore User Guide for Administrators

1 Settings section

When you configure XTM Connect – Sitecore, in Sitecore, this section contains the first editable parameters that you see. They are displayed in the Content Editor Settings window, after the Quick Info overview.

Description

Default source language

The default source language for all content that will be sent for translation in XTM Cloud is set in this field. To choose a default source language, select it from the dropdown list. The list contents are based on the Languages folder, located in the System folder in the main Content Editor screen.

Sitecore users with the XTMAdmin role can add new languages and then select one as the default source language from this dropdown list, if required.

Default template

To set an XTM project template as the default template for all translation projects, select it from the dropdown in this field. This field is optional: you do not have to set a default template. If you do not do so, Translation requesters can select a project template when they generate translations.

Note

When you install Sitecore for the first time, the templates list is empty.

Even if you try to download XTM templates, you might not be able to do so, as the Sitecore-related settings might not have been configured with the API yet.

First complete all configuration settings (except for this Default template setting) and save them. Then fetch XTM templates.

Project name prefix

If required, you can specify a prefix that is later used to distinguish Sitecore projects from other projects in XTM.

Name format: a combination of small and capital letters.

Use the old theme

If you want the old theme to be used, to display the XTM Connect – Sitecore user interface, select this checkbox.
