Installing an XTM Connect installation package

The XTM Connect installation package consists of one .zip file called XTM Connect for Sitecore-X.X.XXXX.XXXX_Release_XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.zip.

In this name, "x.x.xxxx.xxxx_Release_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx stands for the file version. The installation package must be uploaded to Sitecore, and then installed.

If you are replacing an existing XTM Connect installation package, for example, because you are installing an update, we recommend that you first back up the XTM Translation folder in the Sitecore Content Editor. This folder contains all Sitecore content that is to be translated in XTM Cloud. It is sent for translation there by XTM Connect.

When the XTM Connect package is installed or updated, most items and files are merged or overwritten automatically. The only exception to this rule is the Xtm.Connector.Sitecore.TranslationSiteDefinition.config file: if it is used to register the server on which the Sitecore application is installed for use as a Translation site, it will contain bespoke configuration details, which should not be overwritten. In this case, do not overwrite this file. Otherwise, select Overwrite. If XTM user roles have already been assigned, an information popup will inform you.
