Licensing

There are many ways in which you can leverage the unique advantages of XTM Cloud – the Translation Management System with a built-in translation memory, terminology and CAT tools.

XTM Suite

XTM Suite is an on-premise solution hosted on your own server infrastructure.

XTM Suite is offered with Enterprise subscriptions. You can create any number of users in the system, but only the licensed number of users can be logged in at the same time. All types of users (Administrator, Project Manager, Linguist, etc.), except Customer Project Managers, are counted as licensed users.

XTM Cloud

XTM Cloud can be hosted on:

Private Cloud

It is a single-tenant deployment of XTM Cloud.

XTM Private Cloud is offered with Enterprise subscriptions. You can create any number of users in the system, but only the licensed number of users can be logged in at the same time. All types of users (Administrator, Project Manager, Linguist, etc.), except Customer Project Managers, are counted as licensed users.

Public Cloud

It is a standard, multi-tenant deployment of XTM Cloud.

XTM Public Cloud licensing depends on the subscription type purchased:

  • Enterprise – for 5 or more concurrent, not named users. You can create any number of users in the system, but only the licensed number of users can be logged in at the same time. All types of users (Administrator, Project Manager, Linguist, etc.), except Customer Project Managers, are counted as licensed users.

  • Group – for up to 4 named users. In this subscription type, the number of active users will need to match the number of licenses purchased. Administrators can log in even if all licenses are booked, because they need to be able to purchase more licenses from the Administrator settings.

  • Freelance – for a single named user.

Note

A registered XTM Portal user can have the option to be configured as Customer Project Manager with the Create and view access rights. In this case, it does not count as a licensed user.

However, if this subscription type is upgraded to provide full access to the Project Manager module in XTM Cloud, then they are counted as a licensed user.

As of XTM Cloud 13.5 the following new subscription options are available to new accounts:

Group and Freelance subscriptions remain unchanged.

    • 3 million.

    • 5 million.

    • 250 million.

    • 500 million.

    • 1 billion.

    • Unlimited.

  • Team – This limit refers to the number of users who can be created in your XTM Cloud instance, and also who can be logged in at the same time. The minimum duration for this subscription is 1 year. In this subscription type, you have the allowance of up to 2 million processed words per year.

In this section:

Processed words are calculated as follows:

number of words in the source file(s) * number of target languages in the project - number of ICE matches in the project

Example 44. Processed words calculation

The source file contains 100 words, the project has 3 target languages and 20 words from one target language are ICE matches. XTM Cloud calculates processed words as follows:

100 * 3 - 20 = 300 - 20 = 280

For this project XTM Cloud will deduct 280 processed words from your allowance.


Processed words are deducted from your XTM Cloud instance word allowance, when:

  • Project Managers start a project or job. Only the processed words related to the started file(s) and/or language(s) are going to be deducted.

  • Project Managers or Linguists open a job in XTM Workbench in edit mode (either via UI or API) before starting the project. Only the processed words related to the opened file(s) are going to be deducted. If the file is opened in edit mode only after its workflow has been started, the processed words for the relevant file are not going to be deducted again.

  • Project Managers download project file(s) before starting the project. Only the processed words related to the downloaded target file(s) are going to be deducted. If the file is downloaded only after its workflow has been started, the processed words for the relevant file are not going to be deducted again. Also, if the same version of the target file is downloaded multiple times, processed words are going to be deducted only once.

  • Project Managers upload or replace one or multiple source files to an existing, started project (continuous project) for which the processed words have already been deducted. In this case, only the processed words related to the new scope are going to be deducted from your word allowance.
