XTM Connect – Microsoft SharePoint Drive 1.1.0 Administrator Guide

Settings in Microsoft Azure

The settings you make below, in Microsoft Azure, are required to enable your instance of Microsoft SharePoint Drive to connect to XTM Cloud. When you have made them, make the other necessary settings in your instance of Microsoft SharePoint Drive.

Make these connection-related settings in Microsoft Azure:
  1. Navigate to http://portal.azure.com and log in.

  2. Go to Azure Active Directory > App registrations > New registration and register your new application. To do so:

    1. In the Name section, enter the application name.

    2. In the Supported account types section, select the account types that are to have access to the relevant API.

  3. Select Register. The new application is created. The screen closes and you see the The Portal Connector screen.

  4. Copy the Application (client) ID for the application you have just created and note it for later use.

  5. Create a new Client secret for the application. To do so, select Certificates & secrets > New Client Secret. You see the The Portal Connector - Certificates and secrets screen.

  6. In the Add a client secret section, enter a Description for the new client secret.

  7. Below it, in the Expiry section, select an expiry duration.

  8. Select Add. The client secret is created. You see the The Portal Connector - Certificates and secrets screen again and you are prompted to copy the client secret you have just created.

  9. Copy the client secret you have just created and note it for later use.

    Note

You must copy the client secret now: you will not be able to do so later.

  10. Copy the Value field contents to the Clipboard. This field is at the bottom of the screen, on the right. You can then save it to a file, with the Application (client) ID for the application and the client secret.

  11. Grant Admin Consent to Microsoft SharePoint Drive. To do so:

    1. Select API Permissions.

    2. Grant Microsoft SharePoint Drive delegated AllSites.FullControl.All permission.

    3. After this permission has been granted, select Grant Admin Consent. By doing so, you confirm your settings, which are saved.

Result: you have made the necessary settings in Microsoft Azure. You have also noted these items for later use:

  • The Application (client) ID for the application.

  • The client secret for the application.

  • The Value field contents.

These items are used later, in the Settings in MS SharePoint Drive and when a new connection profile is created, in XTM Connect – Microsoft SharePoint Drive.

Now make the necessary settings in MS SharePoint Drive.
