XTM Connect – Sitecore Administrator Guide

Using the XtmConnectorBaseTemplate

You need to configure the templates applied to translation content to inherit from XtmConnectorBaseTemplate because they inherit properties from it. By default, no content is available for translation: to add content for translation, the content's template must inherit from the XtmConnectorBaseTemplate.

To configure a template to inherit from the XtmConnectorBaseTemplate:
  1. Log in to Sitecore.

  2. In the main Sitecore screen, select the Content Editor icon. You see the Content Editor screen.

  3. Select the arrow to the left of the Templates folder, lower down the screen, to open it. The Template Manager screen section is displayed on the right.

  4. In the Template Manager, select the Content button. The Data section is displayed.

  5. In the Data section, on the left of the screen, select the arrow to the left of the Templates folder.

  6. Select the arrow to the left of the XTM folder, to open it.

  7. Select the XtmConnectorBaseTemplate.

  8. To its right, select the blue arrow below the Selected header to move the XtmConnectorBaseTemplate template into the box on the right and add it to the selected templates.

  9. Select the Save icon at the top of the screen, on the left, to save your template settings.

Tip

Repeat this sequence for every template listed in the Templates > XTM folder, so users do not have to assign templates manually to every item sent for translation.
