- Base system calculation unit
A calculation unit that serves as a reference for other units.
- Base system currency
A currency used by the XTRF system as the default currency for cost and price calculations. If any invoice or payment has to be created using another currency, its value is converted from the Base system currency using the latest exchange rate.
- Calculation unit
A predefined value, such as source word or target page, which is used to calculate the price on the basis of the volume of work. The calculation units are used to create rates for specific jobs in specific language combinations.
There are two default system calculation units that are set in the Configuration menu: Base System Calculation Unit and Default CAT Calculation Unit.
- CAT Payable
A payable based on CAT analysis of the files given to the vendor.
- Client (Customer)
A company or an individual who orders projects.
- Default CAT calculation unit
A calculation unit used by the system in CAT calculations. By default, it is set to source word, but you can select another one.
- Job
A part of the project related to a specific vendor. It contains the full set of instructions and agreements with the vendor, including the job type the vendor needs to perform and the payables they will receive.
- Job offer
An e-mail message which is sent to a group of vendors, prompting them to indicate their availability for an upcoming project. Job offers are also displayed in the Vendor Portal.
- Job type
A service (single action or multiple actions treated as one) performed by a vendor or an XTRF user to complete a project. The typical job types are translation, proofreading, editing, etc.
- Payable
Calculations (cost and details) for a specific job you have to pay the vendor for.
- Quote
A document that outlines the price for providing a particular translation-related service before the client actually purchases it. A quote can be created by a project manager or requested by a client.
- Receivable
Calculations (cost and details) for a specific service that a client has to pay you for.
- Specialization
A qualification such as a knowledge of medicine or legal terms required to perform a specific job.
- Vendor (Provider)
A company or an individual who performs the translation, proofreading, DTP, or any other activity for you.
- View
A method of sorting items in a table. The most commonly used views are included in the system. However, users can create, edit, and remove their own views.
- Work Log
A functionality designed to store and manage information about the time users spend on activities in the Home Portal.
