XTM Cloud v 13.1

Create a project: Machine translation

This section provides information about optional Machine translation parameters that you can use while creating a project in XTM Cloud.

XTM has been integrated with a wide selection of Machine Translation (MT) engines. The MT engines that are visible and available for selection during project creation depend on what has been set up by the system Administrator for the entire system, or by the Project Manager on a customer level.

The MT engines are:

  • Amplexor

  • AWS Amazon Translate

  • CrossLang

  • Custom MT

  • DeepL

  • Google Translate

  • Iconic

  • KantanMT

  • Lingo24

  • Lionbridge GeoFluent

  • Microsoft Translator

  • Omniscien Technologies

  • Oneliner

  • SDL BeGlobal

  • SmartMATE

  • SYSTRAN Pure Neural™

  • Tauyou

XTM can either:

  • send the source text segment by segment from within XTM Workbench for matching. Which segments are sent for MT matching is determined by the settings entered under Configuration tab > Settings > Translation > Machine translation. Segments that are not matched by the TM will be shown as MT matches in the project metrics. When an MT system is selected for use, the translator will get MT matches in XTM Workbench.

This applies to the following MT engines:

    • Tauyou

    • SmartMATE

    • MS Translator

  • sends the entire XLIFF for matching and for this reason the project creation may take longer when this option is used.

This applies to the following MT engines:

    • Omniscien Technologies

    • KantanMT

    • CrossLang

    • Lingo24

    • Oneliner

    • Lionbridge GeoFluent

    • SYSTRAN Pure Neural™

Important

Ensure you always use an MT engine which is compliant with your security and data processing requirements.

Advanced options values available for every target language:

  • Use MT for this language switcher

    • deactivated

    • activated

  • Glossary dropdown

    • Not available — when DeepL Translator does not support glossaries for this target language

    • Choose... — to select a glossary available for this target language

  • Formality dropdown

    • Not supported — when DeepL Translator does not support formality parameter for this target language

    • Default (default)
