Quality frameworks
Language testers must enter an error category when they report an issue. Error categories are defined by a quality framework that enables feedback providing and processing. A framework also defines:
hierarchy of error categories.
error priority levels (for details, see the Issue priority levels section).

Toolsets that support quality frameworks could be used to analyze the quality at various levels.
Rigi offers the following quality frameworks:
Default framework
The default QA framework contains the main error categories that have the following hierarchy:
Translation issues.
Non-translation issues:
Internationalization (i18n) issues.
Source issues.
Rigi issues.

TAUS Dynamic Quality Framework (DQF)
TAUS DQF is a standard methodology for quality evaluation. For more information, check the TAUS documentation.
Multidimensional Quality Metrics (MQM) framework
MQM is a framework for describing and defining custom translation quality metrics. It provides a flexible vocabulary of quality issue types, a mechanism for applying them to generate quality scores, and mappings to other metrics. It does not impose a single metric for all uses but rather provides a comprehensive catalog of quality issue types with standardized names and definitions, which can be used to describe specific metrics for specific tasks.
To simplify the application of MQM, MQM defines a smaller ‘Core’ consisting of 20 issue types that represent the most common issues arising in the quality assessment of translated texts. The Core represents a relatively high level of granularity suitable for many tasks. When possible, users of MQM are encouraged to use issues from the Core to promote greater interoperability between systems.
