Manage technical users for APIs

Important

Settings and actions described below are only available for Rigi subscribers. For details, see the User roles section.

Technical users in Rigi are used to grant a minimum set of permissions to an external system that connects to Rigi via APIs.

Technical users

  • A technical user is never a person but an external system that accesses Rigi via the API to perform particular tasks. For this reason, a technical user cannot access Rigi via the normal user interface.

  • A technical user is defined at system level. If required, technical users can be selected during project creation.

  • A technical user’s permissions are restricted: they can only perform the specific, limited tasks for which they have permissions.

Examples

  • A custom file parsing system uploads source texts and translations to the Rigi server. This task only needs permission to upload translations.

  • A build process at development first uploads new files to the workspace and then downloads files containing Rigi tokens. This task only needs permission to upload and download files.
