Lock strings (mark as non-translatable)
Resource files in the workspace sometimes contain strings that should not be translated.
Locked strings have the following characteristics:
are not shown to translators in the editor.
are not shown to language testers.
will stay unchanged in Rigi tokenized files. For details, see the Prepare a staging server with Rigi tokens guide.
will stay unchanged in simulated translation files. For details, see the Simulate translations guide.
Developers and project managers can lock and unlock strings in the project's Texts section. For details, see the Strings in context section.
To lock a string, perform the following steps:
In the project menu, select Context > Texts.
Find the string you want to lock.
Hover over it and click the
icon.
A lock or unlock action is applied to strings immediately. When a string is locked, Rigi keeps its current translation, status, and history. As a result, this information will be restored when the string is unlocked later.
