Development and localization process

In Rigi, the localization process consists of four stages:

  1. Development. Developers send a complete set of resource files (e.g., JSON or properties files) that need to be translated to the project manager. Developers or the project manager set up a workspace and capture previews for in-context translation. For details, see the Development stage and Developer guides.

  2. Translation. The project manager creates a project and manages the translation of new and updated source texts. That process can include an internal linguistic review. For details, see the Project management guides and Translator guides.

  3. LAT. The project manager sets up a language acceptance test (LAT) for each language. In it, a review task is created and assigned to one or more language testers (reviewers). Language testers review translations in context, provide feedback, and suggest ways to improve translations.     A review pack defines who the language testers are, what they need to review, and how the feedback should be provided (quality profiles).

  4. Correction. Translators review the feedback and apply the corrections in their translation editor. For details, see the Process feedback from reviewers guide.
