Capture HTML previews for WPF applications

You can capture HTML previews of Microsoft WPF .Net applications using the Rigi Websnap tool. For details about the tool and its installation, see the Rigi Websnap tool article.

Before capturing previews for WPF applications, you need to perform the following preparation steps:

After the preparations are completed, perform the following steps to capture HTML previews:

  1. Start Rigi Websnap.

  2. Open the required project by clicking File > Open and selecting the rigisnap project file on your local machine.

    You can also select the required project in the list of recent projects in the File menu.

    If you are already logged in to the Rigi server, the External capture manager will open in a browser tab.

    If you are not logged in, the Rigi login page will be displayed instead. You can ignore it, as you will be asked to log in later.

  3. In Rigi Websnap, click WPF > Start application....

  4. This will start the WPF app specified in the project settings.

  5. In the WPF app, click F8 to capture the first preview. After a few seconds, the Upload HTML Previews popup will be displayed.

  6. Click the OK button. The Rigi login page will be opened in a new browser tab.

  7. Log in to your Rigi account.

  8. Click the Approve button to permit the Rigi Websnap tool to access your Rigi server.

    The External capture manager screen, containing a list of source strings and preview coverage data, will be displayed.

  9. Navigate through your WPF application and click the F8 button to capture all the required previews. They will be uploaded to the linked project on the Rigi server automatically.
