Assign source files to the workspace
Open the project.
In the project menu, select Workspace > Files.
Hover over the required file and click the
icon.
Assign multiple files
To assign several files at once, select their checkboxes and click the
icon above the file list.
The File settings popup will be displayed.
(Optional) Select another parser.
The parser is preselected according to the file extension.
Select the required target rule.
Enter the file ID. This identifier will be used to construct the Rigi file identifier.
File IDs should be unique!
Ensure that the file IDs are unique. Using the same file IDs can result in validation errors upon project update. For details, see the Update a project with new source files guide.
Click the Accept button.
(Optional) Fine-tune the settings:
Click the parser badge to verify or edit the parser settings. For details, see the Configure parser settings guide.
Click the target rule badge to verify or edit the target rule. For details, see the Configure target rules guide.
To verify or edit file settings (parser, target rule, and file ID), click the file ID badge or the
icon.
Mass rename
Use the export/import feature to mass rename file ID. For details, see the Mass rename file IDs guide.
Repeat for all the relevant files.
Result: all source files will be selected and each will have the appropriate parsers assigned to it.
To deselect a file that should not be parsed (unassign it from the workspace), hover over it and click the
icon.
Update the string list with texts from the selected source files in the workspace:
Select the required source files.
Click the Approve for translation button in the top right-hand corner of the screen. A summary describing the string comparison will be displayed.
Correction of source texts
Rigi is able to handle situations in which developers upload resource files containing raw or corrected texts. For details, see the Update source files after linguistic corrections guide.
Click the Approve button. An additional panel will be displayed at the bottom of the project menu.
To return to the workspace settings before approval, click the Revoke button.
An email will now inform the project manager that the workspace has been updated. The PM can start the translation process for the untranslated strings. For details, see the Manage the translation of the source texts guide.
First-time setup – testing the update
When you set up a project for the first time, update the string list as a test to ensure that everything works as expected. For details, see the Manage the translation of the source texts guide.
