XTM Workbench layout overview

XTM Workbench is composed of the main workspace, made up of segments and docked panels.

Use the title bar to navigate between segments and joined files.

Top navigation bar

At the top of the XTM Workbench screen, you see the menu bar with these buttons:

  • File. Select this button to display these settings:

  • Preview. For details, see Preview files in XTM Workbench.

  • Settings. For details, see Settings in XTM Workbench.

  • In-context preview. Select this button to display settings for these in-context preview options:

  • Help. Select this button to display links to XTM Cloud online help, knowledge base, and video tutorials.

  • Tracking changes/Editing mode. This dropdown is only displayed on the right-hand side of the top navigation bar if your XTM Cloud Project Manager has enabled the tracked changes feature for the project. You can use this setting to switch between the tracking changes and editing mode. If you are currently working in tracking changes mode, you see Tracking changes in the top right-hand corner of the XTM Workbench screen. If you are now working in editing mode, the Editing mode label is displayed. For details, see Tracked changes feature.

The title bar displays:

  • The user role that has been assigned to you for that workflow step.

  • The source language and the target languages.

  • The file name(s).

  • File navigator.

  • QA button check-double-solid__1_.svg.

  • Filter button filter-solid.png.

  • Menu for More options ellipsis_vertical_context_menu_brand_refreshed.svg.

  • Segment range.

The progress bar at the bottom of the screen shows your completed work in percentages, words, characters, and segments.

Docked panels in XTM Workbench
. The docked panels are arranged by default into:
  1. Left pane:

  2. Right pane:

You can edit each docked panel layout to suit your needs:

Rearranging docked panels

XTM Workbench docked panels can be moved around to create the most convenient XTM Workbench layout.

  1. Hover over the header of the docked panel you want to move.

  2. Drag over to the place in the interface where you want to place the panel. A blue line is displayed.

  3. Drop the panel. You can repeat the step for each panel.

Restoring default docked panel settings in XTM Workbench
  • Select Settings > Docked panel > Rearrange to default.

Opening docked panel in another browser window
  • In the selected docked panel choose if you want to open:

    1. All panels: Open all in secondary window.

    2. As single panel: Open [docked panel name] in secondary window.
