Deleting a tag from a tag group

You can delete a tag in a tag group at any time. If you delete a tag, this will have the following consequences:

  • The deleted tag can no longer be used in new projects, TM entries, TM penalty profiles, or term penalty profiles.

  • The rules in all existing TM penalty profiles and term penalty profiles that contained the deleted tag groups are deleted. Also, the relevant profiles are set to inactive and marked with a red info icon red_warning_circle.svg. You must fix these profiles and activate them so that they can be used on projects.

  • The deleted tag is still displayed in existing and historical projects, terminology, and TM entries where it has been used before being deleted.

Procedure. To delete a tag from a tag group:
  1. Select Configuration > Data > Tags > Tags.

  2. In the Tag groups list, select the tag group in which you want to delete a tag. To do so, you can:

    • select the context menu icon image2.gif in the first column, in the table. Then, from the dropdown list, select Edit.

    • left-click in the relevant table row.

Result: the Edit tag group popup is displayed.

  3. In the Edit tag group popup screen:

    1. in the Tags section, select the red trash can icon trash_can_red_brand_refreshed.svg to the right of the tag that you want to delete. In this case, you are not informed about any TM penalty profiles or term penalty profiles in which the tag has been used. However, you can recognize the affected profiles in the TM penalty profile or the term penalty profile list. They are inactive and marked with a red info icon red_warning_circle.svg.

    2. at the bottom of the popup, select:

      • Save to delete the relevant tag(s).

      • Close to close the Edit tag group popup without deleting any tags.

Result: the relevant tags are deleted and can no longer be used in new projects, TM records, terminology and TM- and term penalty profiles. However, they are still displayed in the historical resources.
