XTM Cloud 25.3

Closing the Custom preview in XTM Workbench

If you have opened the Custom preview in XTM Workbench, you can now close it, if required. It is especially important if you want to display an updated version of the target text. In this case, you must close the current Custom preview (for details, see the procedure below) and then reopen it (for details, see Opening Custom preview in XTM Workbench).

Important

Certain prerequisites must be met so that Project Managers and Linguists can use the Custom preview feature in their XTM Cloud instance. For details, see the Prerequisites section in Custom preview in XTM Workbench.

Procedure. To close the Custom preview for the relevant file
  1. In XTM Workbench, select In-context preview from the top menu bar.

  2. In the dropdown menu, select Close Custom preview.

Result: the custom preview docked panel, which has been displayed at the top of the XTM Workbench screen, is now closed. Also, the Close Custom preview option is now replaced by the Open Custom preview, in the In-context preview menu. You can use it to open the custom preview for the relevant file again. For details, see Opening Custom preview in XTM Workbench.

Important

The Custom preview files are not stored by XTM International, in any form. So, when you close the Custom preview, they can no longer be accessed. When you open the Custom preview again, for the relevant source file, the new preview files are generated.
