Project reanalysis
When you want to add a new source file to an existing project or only update the source file that is already in translation, you can specify whether the project should be analyzed again. Before you decide to reanalyze your project, remember that reanalysis can cause changes to the existing project:
Metrics and TM matching will be recalculated.
Target segment comments added in XTM Workbench will be deleted.
Workflow allocations will change for overwritten files.
Statistics will remain unchanged.
Any generated offline files will be deleted from the History.
If machine translation has been enabled for the project, all segments will be resent to the relevant MT engine. So when you add new or update the existing project source files, and select the Reanalyse project checkbox, all segments that, according to your project settings, qualify for MT translation, will be sent to the relevant MT engine. This means you might be charged twice by your MT services provider for translating some segments.
Note
If you are running XTM Cloud 13.5 or higher and have purchased a subscription with a specific word allowance (for details see Licensing), when you upload or replace one or multiple source files in a project (continuous project) for which the processed words have already been deducted, only the processed words related to the new scope are deducted from your word allowance.
If, during a project update, an ICE match segment is changed, even by one word, this segment is no longer considered an ICE match. So, all words in that changed segment will be deducted from your word allowance.
