Parameter

Description

Require acceptance of task/project

This feature enables Project Managers to request Linguists and/or LSPs to confirm that they are available for the workflow step to which they have been assigned. The relevant users receive email notifications. Linguists must accept a task before being able to start work on it. LSPs must accept a project before being able to start work on it. Project Managers will automatically be notified, by email, as soon as one of the Linguists accepts or declines their task or one of the LSPs accepts or declines the project.

When you select the Require acceptance of task/project checkbox, use the System default dropdown to specify a default setting for which users must accept a project or a task that is assigned to them. The available options:

  • none.

  • by linguist.

  • by LSP.

  • by linguist and LSP.

Note

Project Managers can select a different option while creating a project.

By default, the Require acceptance of task/project feature is disabled for Limited Project Managers (LPMs). So, in the projects that LPMs create, Linguists are never required to accept their tasks and LSPs are never required to accept their projects. This can be changed by XTM Support. They can enable your LPMs to create projects with:

  • the default system setting for the Require acceptance of task/project feature. In this case, when LPMs create a project, they can see the system setting, but cannot change it.

  • the same level of access to the Require acceptance of task/project feature as standard Project Managers have. In this case, when LPMs create a project, they can both see and change the system setting.

Reassign updated task to the original user group

Select this checkbox to reassign the project to the original group of Linguists instead of the Linguist who worked on the project, when files are updated in a continuous project.

Finish or reject tasks in XTM Workbench

You can enable a Linguist to finish or reject the task from within XTM Workbench by selecting the relevant button, rather than doing it from the Tasks tab. The available options are:

  • Do not allow.

  • Finish only.

  • Finish or reject manually.

  • Finish or reject automatically depending on segment status.

Message when linguist finishes any step

You can define a customized message that is displayed for a Linguist to see at the end of each workflow step, instructing them to confirm their work before the task moves on.

Message when linguist finishes last step

You can define a customized message that is displayed for a Linguist to see at the end of the last workflow step, instructing them to confirm their work before finishing the task.

Check inconsistency when linguist finishes any step (Checks for subcontracted projects are set in principal system)

To check the translation for inconsistencies, select this setting and one or more of the options listed below. If an inconsistency is found, a custom message will be displayed. The Linguist must acknowledge that message before finishing the task. If a task has been subcontracted, the behavior of this parameter is governed by the settings in the main system, as the settings in the subcontractor’s system are not taken into account. The available options are:

  • Fuzzy match used but not edited.

  • Different translations for the same source text.

  • The same translation for different source texts.

  • Invalid inline tags.

  • Incomplete segments - the custom alert message is displayed when a task still has red or orange segments.

  • Spelling & QA.

Message when XTM finds an inconsistency

You can define a customized message for the Linguists, informing them about errors and inconsistencies found in the translation.
