Deleting a tag group and the associated tags
You can delete a tag group and all tags associated with it at any time. These are the consequences of deleting a tag group:
The relevant tag group and its tags can no longer be used in new projects, TM entries, TM penalty profiles, and Term penalty profiles.
The rules in all existing TM penalty profiles and Term penalty profiles that contained the deleted tag groups are deleted. Also, the relevant profiles are automatically set to inactive and marked with the red info icon
. You must fix these profiles and activate them so that they can be used on projects.
The deleted tag group and its tags are still displayed in existing and historical projects, terminology, and TM entries where they have been used before being deleted.
Select Configuration > Data > Tags > Tags.
In the Tag groups list, select the context menu icon
to the left of the tag group that you want to delete.
In the dropdown menu, select Delete.
Result: the Delete tag group popup is displayed. If the tag group has been used in any TM penalty profiles or term penalty profiles, the relevant profiles are listed in the popup. Also, you are informed about what will happen to them after the tag group is deleted.
At the bottom of the Delete tag group popup, select:
OK to delete the tag group and all tags that it contains.
Cancel to close the Delete tag group popup without deleting the selected tag group.
Result: the selected tag group has been deleted and can no longer be used on new projects, TM records, terminology, as well as TM and term penalty profiles. However, tags from that group are still displayed in the historical resources.
