XTM Workbench customization
To access the XTM Workbench customization settings, select Configuration > Settings > Translation > Workflow and access > XTM Workbench customization.
Important
You can only make the XTM Workbench customization settings for your own XTM Cloud instance.
If a project is subcontracted, your XTM Workbench customization settings are NOT inherited by your subcontractor (LSP) and their Linguists.

Enable XTM Workbench customization | Select this checkbox to enable users to tailor the view and functionalities of XTM Workbench, such as docked panels or previews, to their needs. If you select this setting, the Allow user to customize XTM Workbench and Define Simplified Mode settings are displayed in the the XTM Workbench customization. Also, in XTM Workbench, the Customized view tab is displayed in the Settings popup. |
Allow user to customize XTM Workbench | If you have selected the Enable XTM Workbench customization setting, Project Managers and Administrators can decide which users can customize XTM Workbench to suit their needs. Users who are permitted to customize XTM Workbench only have access to the options enabled in Simplified Mode at system level (if any restriction is defined). |
Define Simplified Mode | This setting is displayed if you have selected the Enable XTM Workbench customization setting. Project Managers or Administrators decide which XTM Workbench features are displayed to specific users. This setting is configurable at user level: select User > Edit > Access rights > Open XTM Workbench in Simplified Mode. The available features are: Comments – hiding the Comments panel from view will disable all comment-related functions such as entering comments, setting shortcuts, markings in the status column, segment filters and availability of the feature in the context menu. Concordance – hiding the Concordance panel from view will disable all concordance-related functions such as setting shortcuts, concordance statuses in the status column, and availability of the feature in the context menu. History – hiding the History panel from view will disable all history-related functions such as accessing the segment history information from the docked panel and from context menu. Inline tags tab – hiding the Inline tags panel from view will not affect inline tag-related functions. Inline tag validation (QA option) is not affected by this setting and will continue running according to the QA profile specified at project level. Matches – hiding the Matches panel from view will disable all match-related functions such as setting shortcuts, match statuses in the status column (including MT chates), segment filters (except for Repeated segments) and availability of the feature in the context menu. Also, decoration of the matches in XTM Visual mode preview will be unavailable. Terminology tab – hiding the Terminology panel from view will not affect Terminology-related functions. Excel extended table – hide the Excel extended table option in the Preview dropdown, in XTM Workbench. Excel multilingual – hide the Excel multilingual option in the Preview dropdown, in XTM Workbench. HTML – hide the HTML option in the Preview dropdown, in XTM Workbench. HTML interactive – hide the HTML interactive option in the Preview dropdown, in XTM Workbench. HTML source/target table – hide the HTML source/target table option in the Preview dropdown, in XTM Workbench. PDF – hide the PDF option in the Preview dropdown, in XTM Workbench. PDF interactive – hide the PDF interactive option in the Preview dropdown, in XTM Workbench. PDF source/target table – hide the PDF source/target table option in the Preview dropdown, in XTM Workbench. Other: xliff:doc statuses – do not display xliff:doc information in the XTM Workbench segment status.
