Server specifications for private XTM Cloud
The server specifications will depend on the expected number of concurrent users. XTM Cloud should be installed on bare metal servers with the minimum specifications shown below.
Number of concurrent users | <=10 | <=20 | 21-75 | 75+ |
---|---|---|---|---|
Instance type | Test | Production | Production | Production |
CPU Cores per machine | 4 | 8/16 | 12/24 | Has to be determined individually |
RAM (GB) per machine | 32 | 128 | 128 | Has to be determined individually |
Disk space for active projects files | 1TB | 1 TB | 2 TB | Has to be determined individually |
File system | XFS | XFS | XFS | XFS |
Disk IO (Bytes) Random Reads/Writes | 10/10 MB/s | 10/10 MB/s | 20/20 MB/s | 50/50 MB/s or more |
Number of machines in cluster | 1 | 1 | 2 | Has to be determined individually |
OS - 64-bit versions | Linux | Linux | Linux | Linux |
Linux distro | Rocky 8 | Rocky 8 | Rocky 8 | Rocky 8 |
Storage requirements depend on the number of active and archived projects, source file types, size of source files, and size of TM. Servers must have SSD drives and an XFS file system for active projects and the database. Archived projects can either be stored on magnetic drives or, for additional cost, sent to Amazon S3 storage.
Partition layout:
Partition | Size | Filesystem | Type |
---|---|---|---|
root | 50GB | XFS | SSD |
XTM data | 1 TB or more | XFS | SSD |
Backup | 2 TB or more | XFS | HDD |
Note
At least RAID 1 data protection is required.
Java 17.
Applications Libre/Open Office v 4.0 or later.
Database: PostgreSQL 15.
Apache Tomcat 9.0.78.
Redis 6.2.
MongoDB 5.0.
The server network should include a firewall.
XTM International offers a content delivery network to improve global access and load balancing for large installations.
Within the server cluster, including the database server, a minimum 1 gbit local network is required.
Server bandwidth: Greater than 10Mbit/s depending on the number of concurrent users.
User bandwidth: 2Mbit/s or better.
