Table 23. Linguist workflow options parameters

Parameter

Description

Require acceptance of task/project

This feature enables Project Managers to confirm the availability of Linguists and/or LSPs for the workflow step they have been assigned to. These users will receive emails informing them about a task Linguists need to accept or a project LSPs need to accept before being able to start working on it. XTM Cloud will send Project Managers an email as soon as one of the Linguists or LSPs assigned to the project accepts or declines the task or the project.

When you enable this parameter, from the available options, select System default:

  • none.

  • by linguist.

  • by LSP.

  • by linguist and LSP.

Note

Project Managers can select a different option while creating a project.

By default, the Require acceptance of task/project feature is disabled for Limited Project Managers (LPMs). So, in the projects that LPMs create, Linguists are never required to accept their tasks and LSPs, to accept their projects. This can be changed by XTM Support team. They can enable your LPMs to create projects with:

  • the default system setting for the Require acceptance of task/project feature. In this case, when LPMs create a project, they can see the system setting, but cannot change it.

  • the same level of access to the Require acceptance of task/project feature, as standard Project Managers have. In this case, when LPMs create a project, they can both see and change the system setting.

Finish or reject tasks in XTM Workbench

You can enable Linguist to finish or reject the task from within XTM Workbench by selecting the relevant button, rather than doing it from the Tasks tab. The available options are:

  • Do not allow.

  • Finish only.

  • Finish or reject manually.

  • Finish or reject automatically depending on segment status.

Message when linguist finishes any step

You can set a customized message for the Linguist at the end of each step with an instruction to confirm before the task moves on.

Message when linguist finishes last step

You can set a customized message for the Linguist at the end of the last step in the workflow with an instruction to confirm before finishing the task.

Check inconsistency when linguist finishes any step (Checks for subcontracted projects are set in principal system)

Checks the translation for inconsistencies and will display a custom message that the Linguist needs to acknowledge before finishing the task. If a task has been subcontracted, then the behavior of this parameter is governed by the settings on main system, as the settings on the subcontractor’s system are not taken into account. The available options are:

  • Fuzzy match used but not edited.

  • Different translations for the same source text.

  • The same translation for different source texts.

  • Invalid inline tags

  • Incomplete segments - the custom alert message is displayed when a task still has red or orange segments

  • Spelling & QA

Message when XTM finds an inconsistency

You can set a customized message for the Linguist with the information about what kind of errors and inconsistencies there are.
