Google machine translation

The Google Translate API v2 is a paid service that is not covered by your XTM Cloud subscription. Therefore, if you decide to use this option, you need to create an API key and have a paid account with Google.

To configure the use of Google machine translation on your XTM Cloud account, select the relevant settings in the General options section.

Models and glossaries available in your Google Auto ML account are synchronized with your XTM Cloud instance.

To start using Google AutoML Native models in XTM Cloud, select the Synchronize button again. For details, see Connecting XTM Cloud to your Google Translate MT engine. The Native models are immediately available, not only in the new, but also in the existing projects. XTM Cloud will also keep supporting the Legacy Google AutoML models.

To view the List of synchronized models:

  1. In Configuration > Settings > Translation > Machine translation, select the Google machine translation section.

  2. On the right-hand side of the List of synchronized models parameter, select the View models button.

    Result: The AutoML models popup with the following information about models is displayed:

    • Model name.

      Google AutoML Native models are marked with the Native prefix to differentiate them from the Legacy models.

    • Source language.

    • Target language.

To view the List of synchronized glossaries:

  1. In Configuration > Settings > Translation > Machine translation, select the Google machine translation section.

  2. On the right-hand side of the List of synchronized glossaries parameter, select View glossaries button.

    Result: The Google NMT and AutoML glossaries popup will be displayed. In it, you will see:

    • Unidirectional glossaries displaying the following information:

      • Glossary name.

      • Source language.

      • Target language.

    • Equivalent term sets section displaying the following information:

      • Glossary name.

      • Languages.
