Filter configuration
Filter templates can be used to specify different types of configuration for identifying translatable text in a document. Filter configurations can be created for:
Microsoft Excel files, including multilingual Excel files (
xlsx
,xls
,xlsm
).Microsoft Word files (
docx
,doc
,rtf
).Microsoft PowerPoint files (
pptx
,ppt
).XML files (
dita
,ditamap
,hhc
,hhk
,resx
,svg
,resw
,xml

Depending on the file type, users can decide whether to localize:
Sheet names.
Comments.
Hyperlinks.
Alternative texts – This option is available for:
MS PowerPoint files. – It can be used for all
.pptx
files and.ppt
files for which the Use new MS PowerPoint filter for this file extension option has been used in the MS PowerPoint (97-2003) filter.MS Excel. – It can be used for all
.xlsx
files.
Header and footer – This option is only available for MS Excel
.xlsx
files.Text in hidden sheets.
Text in hidden cells and rows.
Formulas.
Conditional formatting.
Numbers.
Text in specified columns.
Text in a specified color (multiple colors can be selected).
Text to which a certain style has been applied (e.g. bold).
Filter configurations include additional options in the Other section, such as:
HTML processing – If this checkbox is selected, HTML tags can be shown as inline tags in XTM Workbench.
Whitespace processing – By default, whitespaces are normalized, meaning that all redundant whitespaces are removed. Users have the option to retain whitespace if needed.

The following configuration levels are available:
Global level templates apply for all files uploaded to XTM Cloud (for any project and customer). You can:
Customer level templates are added automatically to the projects for the selected customer(s). You can:
Project level templates must either be added during project creation or in the Project Editor. You can:

If multiple templates are created for the same file type at different configuration levels, the following order of priority will apply:
1. Project level.
2. Customer level.
3. Global level.
