Costs and words per customer or custom field report
Use this report to see the summary of costs, words and hours in the selected project(s). You can group the data by customer and/or one of the project custom fields.
Business use case
This report is particularly useful whenever you want to have an overview of the project scope and costs across multiple customers. The real benefit of this report is represented by the grouping options, which enable you to flexibly divide the data in different sections, either based on customer or custom fields.
Running the Costs and words per customer or custom field report.
Note
This report is based on the project costs. If you have not generated them before, XTM Cloud will try to do so while running this report. If cost generation is NOT successful (the red error icon 
), the relevant project will not be displayed in the report. If costs have been generated with warnings (the yellow warning icon 
), by default these projects are excluded from the report. To change it, select the Include costs with warnings in Cost and metrics reports checkbox when running the relevant report.
In this report, all projects are displayed in one table.
The display of the data in the table depends on the selected grouping method. If you have selected no grouping, or grouping by Customer, each table row displays the data for one project. If you have selected the grouping by custom field, or by customer and custom field, each table row displays a different value of the relevant custom field.
In the Costs and words per customer or custom field report report, you see the following information about the selected projects:
Information about grouping:
Customer.
A selected Custom field.
Customer and a selected Custom field.
No grouping.
Customer – This column is only displayed if you have selected grouping by Customer or you have not selected any grouping.
Project name – This column is only displayed if you have selected grouping by Customer or you have not selected any grouping.
[Custom field names] - Custom fields can be created by your XTM Cloud Administrator (see Project custom fields).
Sum of costs + the symbol of the currency that has been used.
Sum of words.
Sum of hours.
Project cost warnings – This column is only displayed if you have selected the Include costs with warnings in Cost and metrics reports checkbox. It indicates whether costs have been generated correctly or with warnings. The values are:
Yes – If the cost has been generated with warnings. Costs generated with warnings are marked with the exclamation mark icon
in Project Editor > Estimates > Costs.No – If the cost has been generated correctly.
Total for the selected values of all projects in the columns:
Sum of costs.
Sum of words.
Sum of hours.
