Creating a chat from the Project list


From the Project list you can create a chat about the entire project, not only a particular segment.

To create a chat from the Project list:
  1. Select Projects > Project list.

  2. Select the context menu icon bars-solid.png next to the project you want to create a chat for.

  3. From the dropdown list, select chat_icon__from_Project_list.svg Create chat.

  4. From the dropdown list, select one of the available options:

    • Open chat for PM and all linguists – enables communication with all linguists assigned to the project.

    • Open chat for PM and linguists in this target language – enables communication with linguists assigned to a specific target language.

    • Choose chat participants... – opens the Choose chat participants popup in which you can select chat participants from the following participant groups:

      • Assigned to project.

      • PM/LPM.

      • Linguists.

      • LSP.

      • User groups.

      • Language groups.

      • Chat groups.

      To select a chat participant, click on the user name to highlight it and select the arrow button chevron_right_green.png. Alternatively, double-click on the user name.

      The name of the selected user will be grayed out on the left-hand side pane and will be displayed on the right-hand side pane.

      Select the Create chat button.


      To close the Change chat participants popup without creating a chat, click Cancel or the xmark-light.svg icon in the top right corner of the popup.


A new chat box is displayed at the bottom of the screen.


If you open XTM Cloud in a new tab or a new browser window, chat boxes opened in the previous tabs or windows become inactive.

Chat boxes are only active in the most recently opened tab or window.
