Manual project creation based on selected source files
To enable manual project creation, during the configuration bucket creation or when editing a configuration bucket, in the Project creation section, for the parameter Create project, select the Manually option.
This method gives you a great deal of flexibility in deciding the exact moment at which Git repository synchronization is performed and selecting source files for the project.
Log in to your XTM Cloud instance.
Note
When using XTM Cloud for the first time, you need to activate XTM Cloud on your computer.
In the XTM Connect tab screen, select the Buckets tab.
If you have more XTM Connect products configured on your XTM Cloud instance, in the Buckets tab screen, select Git.
Select the relevant Git configuration bucket.
To the left of the selected configuration bucket, select the context menu icon
.
From the dropdown, select
Actions > Select files for translation.
Result: The Bucket list > [Bucket name] > Choose files for translation tab screen is displayed. In it, you see a specific branch of your Git repository which has been selected for the relevant configuration bucket.
In the Bucket list > [Bucket name] > Choose files for translation tab screen:
To look for the relevant file(s), use the search field at the top of the screen, on the left.
Alternatively, on the left-hand side, below the Name label, select the path which leads to the file(s) that you want to be translated.
Select specific file(s) for translation. To do so, select the checkbox(es) on the left-hand side of the relevant file name(s).
To select all files within a specific path, select the checkbox next to the Name label, above the files list.
Result: The selected files are displayed in the Files for translation section, on the right-hand side of the screen.
On the left-hand side of the screen, at the bottom, select all relevant Target languages from the dropdown.
In the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, select the Create tasks button.
Result: Once the task has been created, a confirmation message is displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
In your XTM Cloud instance, a new task is created automatically.
To view the task, from the top navigation bar, select XTM Connect and then the Tasks tab. If necessary, refresh the view. In the Tasks tab screen, the value Project created is displayed in the Status column.
After the new task has been created, a new project is also created automatically in your XTM Cloud instance.
To view the project, from the top navigation bar, select Projects and then select the relevant project. If necessary, refresh the view.
Note
For details of how to manage and edit the project, go to the XTM Cloud documentation page, select the relevant version of XTM Cloud instance and then search for the Managing projects section.
