Aborting (cancelling) an entire translation job

You can abort (cancel) an entire individual translation job, if required. You do so in the Job overview screen, in the Jobs tab.

You can also abort (cancel) a single job item within a job, if required.

Note

You can only delete a translation job whose status is In progress or Needs review.

You cannot abort multiple translation jobs, or all translation jobs, at the same time.

Aborting (cancelling) an entire translation job in the Job overview screen, in the Jobs tab:
  1. In the Job overview screen, find the job whose translation you want to abort. (If necessary, filter the jobs list to find it, searching for jobs whose status, shown in the PROGRESS column, is In progress or Needs review.) On the right of the screen, you see the OPERATIONS column.

  2. In the OPERATIONS column, select the action button in the line that contains the job you want to abort:

    • Jobs that have the status In progress or Needs review: the action button will have the label Manage.

  3. In either case, select the down arrow next to the action button label. You see the Abort option.

  4. Select the Abort option.

  5. A separate screen is displayed in which you are prompted to confirm that you want to abort the selected translation job. If you do so, this action cannot be undone. You are warned that, if you do confirm that the job is to be aborted, a request will be sent to the translator, to abort the job. The job translation process will be aborted and the only possible remaining action will be to resubmit the job.The task being aborted might be related to other tasks within the project: if you continue, all related tasks will also be aborted.

    • To abort the selected job, select the Confirm button. You return to the Job overview screen. A screen message confirms that you have aborted the job. It is still displayed in the Job overview list, but its status (in the PROGRESS column) is now Aborted.

    • To leave the job unchanged, select the Cancel button. You return to the Job overview screen. There is no screen message or other notification to confirm that you have not aborted the job. It is still displayed in the Job overview list, with the same status (in the PROGRESS column) as before.

Note

If it becomes necessary to resend the selected job for translation, at a later date, you can resubmit it, if required. For details, see Resubmitting an aborted translation job.

You can also delete an aborted job, if required.
