XTM Connect – Drupal 8.x-6.2

Directly via the URL

This topic applies for systems running Drupal Release 8 and earlier. If your Drupal system is Release 9 or higher, see : Using the Composer installation tool (Drupal Release 9 onwards).

We recommend that you install the XTM Connect – Drupal plugin directly from the relevant XTM Connect – Drupal module page. It is quick and uncomplicated.

If this is not possible, for some reason, you can also do so from a downloaded plugin package. This might be necessary, for example, if you have previously downloaded the plugin package you require and have no access to the relevant (XTM Connect – Drupal) module page at the time you want to install the plugin.

To install the XTM Connect – Drupal plugin directly from the relevant (XTM Connect – Drupal) module page (recommended):

  1. In your instance of Drupal, select the Extend tab. You see the List tab screen.

  2. Select the Install new module button. In the Install new module screen, you see the Install from a URL field.

  3. In a new tab on your computer, on the Drupal website, go to the XTM Connect – Drupal module page.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page, to the Releases section. You see the details for the current (most recent) module (plugin) release.

    Tip

    The listed release is intended for specific Drupal Release levels: you might, for example, see Works with Drupal: ^9 || ^10 || ^11.

    • If the listed XTM Connect – Drupal release is suitable for your Drupal Release level, select the name of the release.

    • If the listed release is not suitable for your Drupal Release level, select the View all releases link at the bottom of the page. You will see a list of previous releases. Select the name of the release that you require.

    • If the listed release is not suitable for your Drupal Release level, select the View all releases link at the bottom of the page. You will see a list of previous releases. Select the name of the release that you require.

    In either case, a page containing installation files (packages) for that release is displayed.

  5. In the Alternative installation files section, right-click on the installation file that you require.

  6. In the context menu, select the Copy link option. The installation file URL is copied to the Clipboard.

  7. Select the previous tab on your computer, which contains the Install new module screen.

  8. Paste the Clipboard contents into the Install from a URL field. Example: https://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/tmgmt_xtm-8.x-7.1.zip.

    Note

    Note that, in tmgmt_xtm-8.x-7.1.zip, the number "8.x-7.1" is the version number.

  9. To install the selected TMGMT plugin module, select the Install button at the bottom of the screen. The installation process runs.d

Result: you have installed the XTM Connect – Drupal plugin on the Drupal server.

To complete the necessary installation tasks, ensure that you have also installed the TMGMT plugin on the Drupal server and installed the required Translation Management modules in Drupal. (TMGMT on Drupal does not require any extra dependencies but, to enable it to be used, those additional modules must also be installed and activated.)
